All Those Vanished Engines was a 2011 exhibition at MASS MoCA by the sound artist Stephen Vitiello at an abandoned adjacent boiler plant. Interested in spaces with a history, Vitiello strives to evoke that history through the use of sound. In the installation, sound emerges from 20 different places, echoing among the abandoned machinery and amplified by the acoustic properties they lend to the space.
